Operating Thesaurus Payroll Manager from a server/network location


To assist multiple users of the software within a payroll bureau environment, Thesaurus Payroll Manager can be installed to and operated from a server/network location. 


Step 1 - Install the software to the server/network location


  • Choose one user to install the software to the server/network location. Thesaurus Payroll Manager can be downloaded here

    Please note: it is from this same location that other users will access the software and company datasets.

  • On installing the software, this will place a shortcut on this user's Desktop to access the software on the server going forward.

  • When this user opens the software for the first time, or after availing of the 60-day free trial, they will simply enter and activate the licence key provided at time of purchase in the field provided:

  • This user will now be ready to use the software to create/ import company datasets



Step 2 - Providing software access to other users


Should further users wish to access the software on the server, the following steps are to be performed on each user's PC:


  • Browse to and access the Thesaurus Payroll Manager installation folder that is now on the server/network.

  • Within this folder will be a file called 'thes2021.exe' - right click on this and 'Send to Desktop'


  • This will now place a shortcut on this user's Desktop to access the software on the server going forward.

  • As per the initial user, each subsequent user must also licence and activate the software on their PC:


  • Each user who has performed the above will now also be able to create/access/import company datasets in this central location, as required. 


Important note: each Thesaurus Payroll Manager licence allows for the software to be activated up to 10 times.


Please note

If a user receives an error when trying to access the software on the server, it is recommended that they also install the software to their C drive (so that the program files are installed locally).

In doing so, the user must then ensure that the shortcut icon on their Desktop is still pointing to the server location (and has not been replaced by the shortcut to the C drive installation).
