Thesaurus Software's Charity Walking Challenge

On 1st June, the staff at Thesaurus Software embarked on a walking challenge with the target of collectively walking 5,000 kilometres during the month. Organised by our Charity Committee, not only did our walking challenge raise valuable funds for our corporate charity partner, CARI, it also promoted a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as created some friendly competition giving everyone a much needed boost after a tough year.

Incredibly, over 65% of staff got involved in the challenge, making up a total of 10 teams with names such as “Not Fast, Just Furious”, “Scrambled Legs” and “Sole Mates”. Throughout the month the Charity Committee kept us inspired and motivated by sharing local walks and places of interest. Many of us discovered hidden gems on our doorsteps that we never knew existed.

We are extremely proud to say that we totally smashed our target of 5,000 Kilometres, our final count being 10,862 Kilometres! This is a testament to the team spirit of everyone who took part. However, a special mention has to be given to Rafal Osak who walked a staggering 649kms. Hopefully the top prize of a foot spa helped those tired feet.

Charity Partner - CARI

The walking challenge was used as an opportunity to raise much needed funds for CARI, a volunteer provider of therapy to children and families affected by child sexual abuse. With thanks to our generous staff, their families and friends, we raised an incredible €2,270. We truly hope this will help somewhat with the incredible work done by CARI.
